Indeed I thought that professor hit the nail in the wall! There are a lot of parents who have a hard time explaining to their children about race. Children have minds are so impressionable that one might accidentally display the wrong message for children to pick up on. Also the children may turn out the wrong way due to the fact that they are follow along the lines of the parents. Some parents may not be racist at all, but there needs to be some levels of comfort in talking to your children whether it be about race, sexual content,or decision making. When I was young, my mother was very upfront with me about the different aspects of life. This was very helpful when I approached the world because I was given the proper techniques and information to deal with certain situations that I came across.
