This article is about a man who was convicted of murdering a woman and her two sons on account of revenge. He found out that his wife was having an affair with another man and was pregnant with the other man's child. Serrano was upset and went to the other man's house to get him, but found his wife, 37, and his two sons who were 15 and 12. Serrano shot all three of them. The jury of 8 women and 4 men were to decide if Ricardo Serrano was to spend life in prison without parole or have the death penatly.

I found this disturbing because everyone on the defense side was trying to make it sound like Serrano was a good man. I understand that it is their job to defend the accused, but a good man doesn't go and shoot people out of revenge.
I also found another article that talks about the decision that the jury made and about how Serrano's wife wants to testify against him.

My personal opinion about whether or not he should get life without parole or the death penalty would be life in prison without parole. I've always thought that if someone has killed another person that the should have the rest of their life behind bars to think about it. In a way i see the death penalty as the easy way out because they dont have that chance to feel remorse. I agree with you that the defense trying to say he was a good man was a little to far.

To the above comment: I do have to agree with you on the deathy penalty and life without parole. I think yeah an eye for an eye, but then it's over. If they have to spend life in prison they have to think about why they are there every single day. It is just an easy way out of what they did in some way for the are sentenced to the death penalty. .

The case is interesting, and I think the jury made a great choice on that. I agree with you on the defense. It is their job to defend him and have a fair trial, due process, but what kind of "good man" would go and kill an innocent woman and her two children. What excuse could there be? She wasn't the one having the affair, and most likely she didn't know about it so why kill her. . Anyways, good articles.
