OnLine Autopsy--NOT Virtual

Here is a link to a real autopsy. Be warned, this is a close-up and graphic representation of physicians conducting an autopsy on a young woman. It is narrated so you know what is going on.

Wow...this is very graphic but it is a lot better than the other autopsy project that I had done earlier. I felt this one was very helpful and it explained a lot more of what goes on during the autopsy. It amazes me that they actually remove all of the organs and cut open all of that stuff, and actually get it all to go back in...kind of like a puzzle! It would have been nice to see them do that, but it stopped right after they took the brain out. It'd be interesting to see how they put them back in place, and again how they sew up the body.

I would recommend watching this if you're interested in how an actual autopsy works. The narrator does a good job of explaining what the people are doing. They never did determine the actual cause of death, but in the begninning they say that they think it's of a drug overdose. Very interesting to watch!

WOW!!! That is all I can say..I'm pretty speechless! I did the virtual autopsy and read up a little about autopsies, but it is a lot more disgusting than I thought it would be. I had to mute a few parts (when they were cutting the ribs and sawing off the head) because I couldn't handle it.

This is definitely not something that the weak-stomached can watch, so if you are one of those people, stay away from this video!

I did however feel that it was a lot more informative than the virtual ones (obviously). The video only showed the girl being cut open and her organs being removed as well as her brain, so they did not go into anything past that (weighing the organs, sewing the body back up). Like stated before, they did not determine the cause of death though they guessed it was of drug overdose.

I was surprised at how quickly the incision was made and the organs were cut out. The video was somewhere between 7-8 minutes I believe, but there were a couple of spots where the audio cut out so I'm not sure if they did a time lapse of some sort. Regardless, I was surprised by how "roughly" they took out the organs. I assumed they were a little more careful, but I guess it never needs to function again and nobody will ever see it so it doesn't really matter what it looks like as long as they are able to obtain the results they are looking for.

I would have like to see the organs getting weighed and what happens after, but it was still much better than the virtual ones you can find on the blog. If you haven't done the virtual autopsy before you want to watch this movie, I would recommend doing so, so you will know what to expect (my friends watched this with me and they did not know they cut the top of the head off to get the brain out, and they were very disgusted).

Overall, it was a great video worth watching if you are interested in autopsies!

Okay, this was so much better than the virtual one I did earlier. I really don't know what to say about it. I thought it was extremely interesting. The guy that was explaining everything did a great job at letting us know what was going on during the process.

I am glad I started with the virtual autopsy because then I could at least prepare myself, but I don't think anything could prepare me for this and I'm glad I watched it! I was very interested in how they took out the organs and handled everything. They were quick! The opening the body didn't take as long as what I thought it would and cutting the organs from the body didn't take that long either. I was curious to how they were going to put it all back together because it was like a puzzle to get everything out but they of course stopped after taking out the brain. I also would have liked to know the cause of death.

The part that I didn't like hearing was when they were cutting open the head and cutting out the neck portion. Overall, I thought this video was a lot better than the virtual and I am glad I did watch it because it was really informative!
