There is a show on A&E called Crime 360 that features this and other technology all the time. It's a awesome tool for law enforcement and really cool to see it in action.

I think this 3D camera is a very big step in the criminal ivestigation field. The camera makes it so much easier for people involved to get a better sense of what has happened. The camera is beneficial to detectives in a way that they can revisit the crime seen without actually going to the place it happened. This would make it much more convenient for them. Also if they were revisit the crime scene at a later time, some things may be different; for example the body is probably not going to be there and some things may have been moved in order to move the body. Also the camera would be really beneficial for the jury in sense that they can actually see the crime scene and also get a better mental picture of what actually happened and help them do their "job" to the best of their ability. I believe this is a big advancement in the field and would be interested in learning more about this and other technological advancements in the field of criminal investigations.
