The Life After Innocence Project advocates for innocent people adversely affected by the criminal justice system, helping them reenter society and enabling them to reclaim their rights as citizens, through individualized legal and support services and wider-reaching public policy initiatives.
Curious as to whether you know if a wrongful conviction stays on a person's "permanent record" - even though they were innocent? Having to tell potential employers why there was a 5 year gap in your employment history because you were wrongful locked up may tend to have aversive effects on getting hired.
On another topic - I assume that a sex offender would have a worse time in this regard. However, they are similar in the sense that the person (100% innocent or 100% guilty) still has to defend themselves and clear their name - forever.
