What Gestalt principles are in play in this video?

This is a very interesting video because it's amazing to watch how we see the birds as one big object, instead of a single bird. It was cool to see how swiftly they moved and the different shapes they made.

This video actually made me laugh while watching it in class, because my friend and I totally do this all the time. We were eating at a restaurant one day and my friend pointed out that there were a lot of birds flying around. We lifted the blinds up to get a better look and watched the birds for a good ten minutes. It wasn't as cool as the birds in this video but it was deifinitely interesting to watch them all fly from different directions, then come together to make a whole bunch and then separate again.

I relate it to a zoo or a carnival. It's like going to a zoo/carnival and watching the animals/people perform the tricks/acts they have practiced. I felt like these birds had secretly rehearsed to fly together and become one object instead of a single object. Either that, or their planning to attack us and take over the world.
