What is it about the visual system that makes this look real? Why doesn't the visual system discount the fact that the snake is too big to be real?
I think that many people fear snakes, therefore extreme scenarios that could not be possible in real life (such as this one, become more real to those actual people. There are large snakes out there. We really don't know what they look like, so our imagination visualizes the worst it could be. I think this would be more realistic if there were people in the picture. I find it hard to believe a snake is going after a bus that can't be moving (because there is no driver).
