The first time I heard about synaesthesia was on public radio. An autistic man was being interviewed; I can't remember his name right now, but he wrote Born On A Blue Day. I never actually read his book, but he seems like a remarkable man. He has synaesthesia of the digit-color type. He might also have other forms such as music-color; I am not sure I remember right. I think this condition would be a mixed blessing. I wonder if there is a way to temporarily induce it. Could a drug induce it or do you just have to be born with it? Also is there anyone who had it as a child and now doesn't?
