Upon investigating the topics posted on the class website I came across a heading called pavement paintings. I was blown away and did not believe that the paintings were on sidewalks on a flat surface. The artists name is Julian Beever and the other paintings he has done are remarkable. I surfed the internet to find a couple other paintings and found two sites that have good photos. My favorite from Julian Beever is Batman and Robin and the sites are http://www.impactlab.com/2006/03/09/amazing-3d-sidewalk-art-photos/ and http://www.cartridgesave.co.uk/news/9-amazing-3d-pavement-paintings/
I also wanted to see if there were any other artists that have done work like Julian’s and came across work by Edgar Mueller at the site http://www.metanamorph.com/. This site has video clips of the artist making the artwork in speed up time. I also found another artist named Kurt Wenner who has amazing work as well at http://www.kurtwenner.com/artist.htm. The ability of the artists of us shade and coloring to trick the mind into thinking the artwork is in 3d has captivated me and I really enjoy this artwork. I also looked at the laser magic (under magic heading) and it was pretty cool and I still don’t know how he did the tricks he did.
