Why do we study history?

Please watch the above video (20+ minutes) and answer the following question:
In the video above Mitra shows us that kids can learn in ways different from our traditional education. He finds children learn and self organize when they are given a question. My question is how can we take the information from this video (and possibly from what we are learning in class) and make changes within our existing educational system to prepare for the future?

Please watch the following documentary, we will discuss it in class throughout the semester. For now just comment about what thoughts and ideas you had while watching the movie.

This is hard for some people to do - many students write what we refer to as "serial abstracts." They are tempted to talk about the websites rather than the topic proper and this what you DON'T want to do! They will talk all about website #1, start a new paragraph and talk all about web site #2, start a new paragraph and talk all about web site #3, and then write some kind of conclusion. Serial means one after the other...again, this what you DON'T want to do! Also if all three sites are on the same one topic it will be easier.

15.What, ultimately, happened to the law that was challenged?

Next go back to chapter 1 and review the concepts of Presentism and Historicism. Then discuss what you now about the Scopes trial from either a presentist or historicist perspective.
