As I chose of a goal of better communication, I examined some steps that I may take to achieve such goal. I decided that I would like to write more letters and send them there the United States Postal Service. In the past, when I want to get in touch with someone, I would maybe send a quick text, an e-mail, or possibly a call. I feel that these are reliable methods of communication; however, I also feel that sharing one’s handwriting can be a beautiful thing. I also enjoy receiving a response in the form of a returned letter. To intervene with other forms of communication, I will continue to write letters as a means of communication. I will graph such behavior on an x/y chart to focus on how many letters I am sending. I have begun to work on my goal. I have plenty of stationary and envelopes and I brought stamps. So… I feel that I am on a solid track to gOaL AchiEvinG!

For the previous week I kept track of the amount of hours spent watching tv and put into a chart in excel. I have created a separate chart with room for my behavior once intervention starts so that the two can be comparable. I also made note on the chart of there was a reason for watching tv for an extended amount of time, like the presidential election. The data collected already is my baseline data and now I am beginning to create my intervention. I have already begun the rewards process because instead of just sitting and watching tv I went out and volunteered at the House of Hope and that in itself was a rewarding experience. I have reason to believe that as of now my rewards system will be effective in reducing my behavior of watching tv.

I had the goal of studying an hour a day for each test, starting a week before that test. I was going to collect data by taking percentages of how much I studied on each day.

My baseline collected data. (Week 1)

I had one test on Tuesday, October 30. So I started collecting my baseline data on Tuesday, October 23.

Tuesday (Oct. 23)- didn’t study, 0%
Wednesday (Oct. 24)- didn’t study, 0%
Thursday (Oct. 25)- didn’t study, 0%
Friday (Oct. 26)- didn’t study, 0%
Saturday (Oct. 27)- studied 30 minutes, 50%
Sunday (Oct. 28)- studied 60 minutes, 100%
Monday (Oct. 29)- studied 120 minutes, 200%

I then tried to implement my behavior modification and reward myself for my next set of tests. I had two tests that fell on Thursday, November 8. I started collecting data for this week on Thursday, November 1. (Week 2)

Thursday (Nov. 1)- didn’t study, 0%
Friday (Nov. 2)- studied 60 minutes, 50%
Saturday (Nov. 3)- studied 90 minutes, 75%
Sunday (Nov. 4)- studied 120 minutes, 100%
Monday (Nov.5)- didn’t study, 0%
Tuesday (Nov. 6)- studied 120 minutes, 100%
Wednesday (Nov. 7)- studied 120 minutes, 100%

My goal was to eat a set number of calories (1200) and be a little more active than normal in order to lose weight

Week one (baseline)
Monday 29th - 1105
Tuesday 30th - 935
Wednesday 31st - 1255 (over 55)
Thursday 1st - 1188
Friday 2nd - 1011

After I noticed that I didn't eat as man calories as I thought I had, I just had to keep it up.

Week two (implement)
Monday 5th - 692 , - 43%
Tuesday 6th - 1550 (over 350), +29%
Wednesday 7th - 890, -26%
Thursday 8th - 1240 (over 40), +3%

The days I was over the week I implemented my caloric intake, I had worked part of the day. I work at PacSun in the mall. During these shifts, I had lifted boxes filled with clothing and basically ran around the store with my head cut off. My phone only allows me to enter in calories I've burned if I know how many I have burned. Since I do not know how many I burned during my shifts, I could not enter it which is why it appears I was over my caloric intake.

Running a Marathon

My baseline is easy because I started out not running at all.

Monday - 0 miles
Tuesday - 0 miles
Wednesday - 0 miles
Thursday - 0 miles
Friday - 0 miles
Saturday - 0 miles
Sunday - 0 miles

Last week I started performing intervention with a goal of 5 miles (3 miles during the week and 2 miles during the weekend)

This was my first week

Monday - 1 miles
Tuesday - 0 miles
Wednesday - 0 miles
Thursday - 2 miles
Friday - 0 miles
Saturday - 0 miles
Sunday - 2 miles

My goal for the next week also 5 miles total (3 during the week and 2 miles on Sunday)

Consuming less calories

Last week I started to keep track of how many calories I have ate to get a baseline to start from. My baseline was 2000- 2500 calories, so I thought staying under 1700 would be a realistic goal. Also, my phone has broke so I am unable to update my meals right away, instead I wait til I am at the library or at home to use the internet to update myfitnesspal online.
baseline.
Tuesday (Oct. 23)1800
Wednesday (Oct. 24)- 2000
Thursday (Oct. 25)- 2400
Friday (Oct. 26)- 2100
Saturday (Oct. 27)- 2000
Sunday (Oct. 28)- 1900
Monday (Oct. 29)- 2000

I then tried to implement my behavior modification and reward myself for staying under 1700 (Week 2)
Thursday (Nov. 1)- 1500
Friday (Nov. 2)- 1800
Saturday (Nov. 3)- 1700
Sunday (Nov. 4)- 1400
Monday (Nov.5)- 1500
Tuesday (Nov. 6)- 1800
Wednesday (Nov. 7)- 1600
