The material that I have learned as allowed be to understand others along with myself. I realized that we are able to control all aversive and pleasuble behaviors that we emmit or even elictit. Everything in this world depends on how people take the behaviors that one may emmit. This class has showed me flow of flexiblity as well :). I have learned that goals are achieveable when they are direct and constant. I have learned that we can also decipline ourselves This class has taught me a lot about myself and how I can control my behaviors. Sometimes I forget to think before I act though. That is something that I wish I would learn somewhere. This class was very helpful in life in general and I know that when I have kids I am able to turn them into great kids it all depends of how I dicipline and behave as a parent. I am able to turn my kids aversive behavior into very pleasurable behavior! Thanks for being a great teacher and I'll see ya next semester in History and Systems :)

Whenever I encounter punishment, especially in the form of an article, book or movie, and even when it does not realize it's referring too, acting out or engaging in punishment, I can't help but think of all the other ways in which the situation could be handled (DRO's). Or if punishment is a valid option, I cant help noticing all the ways it is done wrong. Behavioral modification techniques definitely make me think about what it might be like IF I ever have kids someday and how I might utilize the information. It also makes me scared of being judgmental and over stepping my bounds as an aunt when my best friends baby grows up and I see her re-acting in ways I know are not productive.

Finally, I feel like i have taken a class that was worth my time. This class has taught me more than I could have imagined about behavior modification. There was ALOT of inofrmation in such a short time. I feel like this class could have been drawn out through another semester with more to learn. I have to admit, this is the first class that I have actually read through all the required text. Some of it got confusing because there was alot within one subject like DRO's. My favorite thing about the class was that all the information we learned could be related in our daily lives. Such as token economies and the ABC's. The ABC's could be portrayed in every life situation.

I really have enjoyed this class. I feel as though I come out with so much more knowledge then what I came in with when taking this class and also Dr. Kim MacLin's class as well. This teaching style really seems to work well for me. I feel as though I now view the world as a more influenced (behaviorally speaking) specifically by people's actions. Even tonight, my roommate wanted me to get him a glass of water and I told him that he has two legs and that he can get it himself. He then began to make a gargling sound as if he was dying of thirst. This repetition of sound kept going on for quite sometime...I just sat there and stared at him. In my head I knew that he was going through an extinction burst because I wasn't going to get him the water. Eventually he stopped and got the water himself. Its when things like that happen that I am thankful I took a class like this. It teaches you different ways to handle different people and types of situations. I used the principal you taught us to get a reduced price on my hotel bill as well. This was when we gave three comments to build up the establishment and the used the "BUT" and targeted a specific behavior, like lowering the bill for the hotel room. And it really worked...obviously I can now use this to my advantage! Once again, its little things like that that I appreciate learning from this class. Thanks for everything, you are a great professor!

The material I have learned from class has made me think of the world more in how my life is influenced predominantly by reinforcement. Everything I do is in the hopes I will recieve some sort of reinforcement for it as a consequence. I will still get the terms elicit and emit mixed up though.
