Its Me or the Dog

"From unruly retrievers to pampered pugs, Victoria has seen them all. But what about the owners who live with them? It's not just the dogs that need help! It's Me or the Dog follows Victoria Stilwell as she tries to restore harmony in homes where pets are running riot and the family is in the dog house."

Dogs can be such a handful...that's why I'm a cat person.

The emitted behavior of one's ill-behaved dogs plays a part into the reason for behavioral modification; it's undesired behavior. Dogs are not always well behaved natural if they are at all. If not trained well, it can cause overwhelming stress for the owner's just like the couple in this episode.

The dogs behavior is destructive and stressful, and that's why professional dog trainers are around. Course not all dogs can be trained but most of them come out for the better from shows I've seen. Behavioral modification at it's best with animals I think.

ABC's for the heck of it:
A = Sasha's bad behavior results in,
B = Wife's threat to kick husband and dog out, which may result in,
C = divorce possibly, if the training didn't happen.

This is funny. This is like supernanny for pets. My roommates have little rat dogs that bark at me everytime I walk in the house. It's like the dogs should have learned by now that I live there and to not bark at me. Some dogs are trained extremely well though, seeing eye dogs are a great example. It must take an incredible amount of patience to be able to train dogs for a living. Behavior modification is what is used to train dogs. I never knew how dogs were exactly trained before this class.

The amount of clothes that girl had for her dogs is ridiculous, I don't even have that many clothes! Clearly the dogs are getting reinforced whenever they do something wrong because the woman cuddles them and loves them more than her own kids. Dogs need to be trained, and if you're not going to train them then they're going to be little psychos. If someone is not mature or responsible enough to have a dog then they should just not have them! The ABC's:
A=the mom always reinforcing the dogs bad behavior
B=the dogs continuing bad behavior
C=kids feeling left out.

this is kind of ridiculous-- animals should not be creating this much havoc in personal relationships, so I think these people are nuts. But I can understand where this lady is coming from with being irritated by this dog's behavior. I think in the situation of the dog sasha, the dog shows bad behavior, tony reinforces this behavior, and the consequence is his wife becoming irritated with the behavior and destruction.

While scrolling back through all of our old blogs I got back to this. I remember that this was the first thing I saw when I got on the hybrid page. It's interesting how everything seems to have come full circle. The book we're reading not "Don't shoot the Dog" or what ever it's called would really help the crazy lady in the video that follows the link. It's unbelievable how crazy her dogs are. I'm under the impression that some people are extremely untrained. Meaning that not only do dogs sometimes look like their owners..but they more likely act like them! There's a lady who's dog constantly poops on the floor and she doesn't even clean it up, let alone punish them. They also bite people without being punished. They don't get rewarded for good behaviors or punished for bad. Their is no learning or training...It's unreal how stupide and unrealistic people can truly be!
