Does the markings of wild animals function as discriminative stimuli? Many poisonous animals are brightly colored or distinctly marked - why do you think this is?

So I watched this yesterday and I thought it was so funny! I had to send it to my roommate because I knew she would enjoy it too. Just the people's reaction to the wild animal made me laugh!
I think they are marked for survival. If other animals notice the brightly colored or markings then they know to stay away if they had a "run in" with the animal before.
I also liked how he emitted the fake skunk under the bench and the consequence of doing that was the people sitting on the bench would jump off or try moving away from the animal, so he elicited their behavior (getting away from it) by scaring them with the skunk.
I have to admit that I thought this was pretty funny! I just love how everyone reacts to wild life. But what is even funnier is if that was a real one i would of sprayed due to it getting scared. I loved the old man. He was trying to let the skunk pass by but it just kept going where his feet were. I thought this was a great video!
This video was pretty funny. I do think the markings on certain dangerous animals is a discriminative stimulus to other animals and people because it distinguishes them from other wildlife to be used as a survival technique.

I believe that it's natures natural way of saying that this animal is dangerous to others. If you look at most of the poisonous or dangerous animals they all have some sort of marking or warning to them that makes them distinct enough for people and other animals to avoid. The way they look determines what we do when we are around them. Just like a stop sign, when we see a stop sign we stop before it because that's what that sign has come to be. So likewise when we see a animal with weird colors like that we are stirred to run away from it.
This is pretty good. I love pranks. I think they are marked for survival so that other animals stay away and don't try to hurt/eat it. But we have leaned to stay away from skunks through positive punishment. No one wants to smell like skunk! Gross!
