Mid-term Suggestions

Hi Class - we will be having our mid-term the Thursday before Spring Break. I am in the middle of formulating the exam and would like your input on what you feel is fair game for test. I will seriously take your responses into consideration while making the exam.

1) What topics are fair game to cover?

2) What topics are not fair game to cover?

3) How would you like to be tested?

I am comfortable being tested over all of section one and two.

I am not ready for section three and four yet. Three is ok but i'm not confident with the information yet. I need to reveiw it more and then potentially I could be ready with section three by then.

I comfortable with writing a paper on topics from homework assignments with outside sources and bringing it to class on Thursday and then a group section on test in class. I like group work. More than 1 brain is needed for Behavior Modification sometimes.

Parts of section III are a little up in the air for me as well, but we can probably discuss that in class. I wouldn't mind having an online portion/assignment for the test, considering it has been an essential vehicle for our learning. Straight testing like multiple choice, etc. I think would be difficult as it would be a changeup to how this class has been functioning. But just some ideas.

I feel the same way about being tested over sections 1 and 2. I feel that I understand that material well and could do well on testing over that material. Section 3 I think I am getting better with, but I would be a little concerned about a test over them.

I think it would be hard to have a straight multiple choice test over the material, although this is honestly my preferred manner of testing. However, the nature of the material makes it so that it would be hard to just have one concrete answer for some questions. I agree that maybe a paper that has to incorporate terms would be a good way of testing.

I think that everything in sections one and two are fine. However, I would like to go through the things in section three more, during class, before being tested on them.

I would like a test that has multiple choice questions and a personal answer questions. Aka, give an example of this or that. I would also be alright with a paper - two pages? I would like it to ask us to apply these concepts to ourselves. I think taking the time to apply what I learn to myself really helps me retain the information.

I also agree with being tested over sections 1 and 2. I am still not very confident with section 3. I think that a paper would be fair game, and I think that a group test would also work since the class is based on a group dynamic.

1.)I agree with being tested over 1 and 2. I feel pretty confident about that material.

2.)I am still a little unsure about 3 and 4 - we haven't done much with that yet. I think I need more practice with 3 for sure.

3.)As of now, I am not really sure how I would like to be tested. I am not sure if some questions should be fill in the blank - like what is in the readings. You ask a question about shaping and we give you examples or something like that. I like multiple choice, but I am not sure what that would look like for this test.

I think we should only be tested over terms/terminology that we have had a chance to cover thoroughly in class and through posts on the blog. I really don't think the information in Sections 3 and 4 should be included because it seems as though it's been problematic for almost everyone in the class. As far as the way we should be tested, I think we should either have a test over the behavioral terms in Sections 1 and 2 that the class has covered and understands or a lengthy opinion post/essay online that includes behavioral terms.

section one and two

I feel that section 1 and 2 are fair game, as we have had a lot of repetition with those terms and concepts in the blog and in our readings. However, sections 3 and 4 are still shaky and I do not feel as confident with that material. Because a majority of the concepts need to be explained I think an essay based test would be better, similar to the homework portions in the readings - basically just explaining the definitions of concepts and possibly giving examples. A group test is also a good idea because a majority of our class time is based on group work.

section 1 and 2 are good for me, i am still a little unsure on 3 and 4. i like multiple choice because i freeze up.
