This is a great video one of Kim's student's sent her for her motivation class. How would a behaviorist discuss the role or function of an inspirational speech? Do you think it might be an establishing operation or what?

Inspiration is great in a variety of situations. By using it to affect the antecedent, you can change someone's behavior, and their consequence. If you can elicit the warriors to emit a stronger fighting behavior, that can be all it takes to change the outcome of a battle. Fears and doubts can be very aversive things to have for a warrior. They can cause salient changes.

I would say inspiration in itself is a great establishing operation. When using inspiration, a coach, leader, or motivational speaker can elicit a behavior to win, to fight, or to be motivated. By using inspiration, it increases the likelihood that a stronger behavior will be emitted. Good video, it didnt exactly inspire or motivate me to a full extent but it did give me goosebumps. Which might have been either an emitted or elicited target behavior, depending on which way you look at it.
