The Fun Theory .Com Site

This site is dedicated to the thought that something as simple as fun is the easiest way to change people's behaviour for the better. Be it for yourself, for the environment, or for something entirely different, the only thing that matters is that it's change for the better.

Can we get students to be better students by making it fun? What is fun from a behavioral perspective? What can you make better by making it fun? How would you go about measuring it?

Making mundane tasks fun is a great way to get things done. Fun can also be used as a motivator. Most adults are juggling work, kids, perhaps school, and other obligations. With a busy schedule (or those who are just lazy) people will overlook minor, yet important, things like washing hands, throwing trash away, etc. It seems like more work to do.

By making these tasks fun it won't seem like more work in your day. Fun is a nice, brief distraction from daily stressors.

It's also a nice way to use positive reinforcement. Use the stairs and make some music, recycle your chopsticks and get a fortune cookie message, crush a can and bubbles come out of the machine. And who doesn'e like bubbles?

I watched the first video and fell in love with this site. I love watching kids under the age of 10 because they're always playing and having fun. It's an automatic part of their life. For years now, I've been curious about why we stop playing tag when we're bored and instead just watch TV.

I think that we can definitely make the world a better place by taking daily events and making them fun and entertaining. That first video was about how recycling can be turned into a game. in the first night, over one hundred people used the machine.

I think mass producing such recycling games that use positive reinforcements could definitely do a lot of good.

I really liked this website a lot! I made my parents watch it and we all thought it was really funny and more importantly a really smart way to get people to do the right things (even if they're small).

Personally I have decided that my stairway in my future home WILL be piano keys!

I saw this website before you posted it on our blog, and I loved it.

One thing that I was curious about though, is that if you travel that same route every day, would it take the fun out of it? After the excitement wore off of the piano stairs, would you still make it a point to walk up them, let's say a month later?

Otherwise, love this idea and love that it actually works.

I went to the website and enjoyed watching the bottle bank arcade. It was a creative and fun way to get people tp recycle. I know if I seen that arcade on the streets then I'd recycle to play a game. Its fun to see how peoples behaviors would change according to things looks and sound.
