_brooke_, I found your article very interesting! I agree with the idea that it is "in your head." Something is more likely to go wrong if you are expecting it to.
I find myself being the opposite of triskaidekaphobic and actually tend to consider the number 13 as being lucky. Part of this being because my birthday happens to be March 13th. Also because I consider myself as having bad luck normally so Friday the 13th should be the opposite, right?
This really goes along with the term of superstitious behaviors that we learned. I'm sure over time the number 13 has just been reinforced as unlucky because some event happened that made someone say it was unlucky. So being unlucky was reinforced with the number and throughout time people have reinforced the superstition even though it really isn't unlucky at all.

That's awesome. My Friday the 13th's are rarely devestating. So, yeah, yours should be lucky!
